Submission FAQs

What genre of writing are you looking for?

Anything! Short stories, poems, opinion pieces, non-fiction, or short memoirs. It doesn’t have to be related to medicine.

I haven’t been writing that much in medical school.

That’s totally fine. We know you’re busy studying. You can submit pieces you have written before med school. You can also submit pieces you have written for PCM.

How are the submissions reviewed?

Once you’ve submitted a piece, the editors will give it a quick read through to make sure it adheres to the RWJMS guidelines for submissions. The editors will meet approximately once a week (or maybe every other week depending on exam schedules!) to review, finalize, and post submissions to the blog.

We will keep you informed through email and Facebook when your piece goes live! We hope to be able to hold workshops and peer review sessions in the future once the blog gets going.

If you have more questions, feel free to email rwjms.literarysociety@gmail.com or contact one of the editors.
